I have been running around like crazy trying to get everything ready for my trip to Syria. I knew I needed to get my passport renewed ASAP, but what I didn’t know is that I needed a Visa for Jordan as well.  I am flying into Jordan and then continuing on to Syria.  With the time crunch of getting both those things done, I looked into a rush passport service.  I ended up going with Travel & Visa Pro, located in San Francisco.  They had the best prices from what I could tell.

The only snag I ran into is that the State Department didn’t allow me to renew my passport.  They made me fill out a brand new form, because my old passport was issued by the military.  If you are a military dependent, or used to be, like me, know that they won’t renew your passport!  The process to get a brand new one isn’t that much more difficult though.  My problem is that it cost me valuable time.  The Travel & Visa Pro people had to mail me back my old passport and I had to go to the post office and have them process my application and put it in a sealed envelope.

Then I sent that back the The Travel Visa Pro people.  Everything went smoothly there afterward.  It took three days to get my passport, another couple for my Visa, and with in a week I had my new passport complete with visa.

I don’t plan on rushing visas anytime soon, but I would definitely use this service again, if I had to.
